Arts Management

About Us

The Arts Management Studio aims to educate leaders in the cultural and creative industries who incorporate the values of inclusion, sustainability, equality, accessibility, as well as international or interdisciplinary cooperation and well-being into their activities and approaches.

We train versatile managers in the organisation and management of arts practice in the cultural and creative industries, in art and design, in the commercial and non-commercial sectors.

We prepare our students for practice in two subject areas.

The aim of the BA in Creative Industries and Digital Culture is to educate new creative professionals who have the ability to contribute to the development of the cultural and creative industries in the 21st century, both in the Czech Republic and abroad. The study focuses mainly on new approaches and innovations in the context of the digitalization of culture.

The follow-up Master’s degree in Arts Management focuses in particular on museums and galleries, their openness and accessibility. However, our students also specialise in associated disciplines such as music, film, photography, fashion and theatre.

We focus on what makes Zlín special, i.e. design, start-ups and creative industries, and we try to bring live culture and art to Zlín. In doing so, we draw on what makes our faculty special – the connection between designers and design theorists, marketers, managers, curators and artists. Interdisciplinary collaboration runs through our veins and we are open to experimentation and making unexpected connections that can bring about and open up important changes in society.

In addition to the new studio facilities, the studio also includes a modern immersive laboratory and the Robot digital creative workshop equipped with 3D printers, a plotter or an engraving and cutting laser. An integral part of the studio is the faculty gallery G18. It offers other forms of education, creative workshops, lectures, concerts, as well as opportunities for various communities and enthusiasts to meet.

It is by bringing together students with different backgrounds and teachers from different disciplines within and outside the FMK that the Arts Management Studio is a unique creative environment where the emphasis is on individual learning, practice and artistic research.
