Industry Cooperation
At the Department of Marketing Communications, we make it a priority that our students leave equipped with not only theoretical but also practical experience, as graduates with professional experience are greatly appreciated by future employers.
Our cooperation with industry professionals is multi-faceted.
Communication Agency is a class where Marketing Communications students join forces with students from our faculty’s studios and, together, they prepare several events that liven up Zlín’s cultural landscape – Busfest, Culturea, Lobby, Skrz Prsty and Zlin Design Week. Each of these projects needs to involve businesses active in the field to succeed, which is why every year it attracts both financial support and other forms of partnership, such as workshops and lectures for students. Another event that provides a bridge between theory and practice is the Marketing Communications Talent competition. Students who enter this “marketing marathon” have 24 hours to work on an assignment given to them by the participating businesses. The next day, they present their marketing solutions in front of a jury consisting of DMC and business representatives. Founded in 2010, the competition has since involved 70 companies, giving birth to more than 230 creative ideas of our students. Want to know what else is super and dapper? Upper! This centre of creative industries is a space for both alumni and students, mostly from TBU, that can help you kickstart your own business. Not only is Upper home to many workshops and seminars on creative industries and business, run by brilliant industry professionals, but you can also use its services to rent your own studio or a desk at the local coworking space.
