The Id:Entita exhibition brought together design students from five universities around the world
29. May 2023Students of the Product Design, Digital Design and Arts Management studios participated in the international exhibition Id:Entita. In May 2023, the student exhibition traveled to well-known design festivals in Lodz, Poland, and Faro, Portugal.
Not only design students from Tomas Bata University in Zlín, but also students from Masaryk University, Technical University in Zvolen, National Taipei University of Technology and University of Algarve were invited to participate together in the international project Id:Entita and thus create a unique exhibition traveling to European cities of design.
A total of over 40 students from various design disciplines from five internationally connected universities participated in the exhibition with the theme of identity, with the main curator doc. PhDr. Miroslav Zelinski, CSc. Despite the fact that the main topic may seem too broad and elusive, the students won with it and their products turned out to be full of variety and freshness. From a fictional battle between the identities of two software companies or an intimate study of a mother-daughter relationship, through an examination of the fear of the emerging identity of artificial intelligence, a personal expression of religious identity and belonging to a subculture, to various perspectives on the visual identity of events and other subjects.
The results of their work could be seen by visitors at the international design festival Lodz Design Festival, which took place at the Art Factory in Lodz, Poland from May 18 to May 28, 2023. “The exhibition was a display of extraordinary art that encompassed different styles and media. She was a great source of inspiration for me and showed me how art can evoke emotions,” local visitor Kuba Jarzębowski evaluates the exhibition.
The Id:Entita exhibition also welcomed Portugal’s Algarve Design Meeting, which took place from 22 May to 27 May 2023 in the old Fábrica da Cerveja building in Faro, which every year becomes the international capital of design.
The expositions of design objects were accompanied by an exhibition guide, created by students of the Arts Management studio of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications, which helped visitors to better understand the main theme of the exhibition and also to realize how the identity of each individual affects the design that surrounds us. Visitors could thus take away more than just a visual experience from the exhibition, namely a printed guide with important FMC contacts and a thematic poster.
