Videomapping workshop at Algarve Design Meeting 2025
27. May 2025The students of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications took part in an international video mapping workshop in Faro, South Portugal. The workshop took place as part of the Algarve Design Meeting, an annual festival that brings together designers, artists and students from around the world to share ideas, inspire and showcase innovations in visual communication, product design and digital media.
In addition to students from Zlín, representatives of universities from Faro, Lisbon and Porto, Portugal, were also invited to the workshop. The project was led by MgA. Václav Ondroušek, assistant professor at the Digital Design Studio, who worked with the students on both the creative design and the technical implementation of the projections.
The workshop was designed as an intensive and interactive educational program, which aimed not only to develop the technical skills of participants in the field of video mapping, but also to strengthen international cooperation, teamwork and creative approach to digital expression. The students created original concepts for visual projections, which they then converted into a final form and prepared for public presentation.
The culmination of the workshop was an evening projection on the historic bell tower of Faro Cathedral, which became one of the main points of the programme of the final evening of the Algarve Design Meeting. The visual installations, created in collaboration with international teams, captivated a wide audience with their innovative concept, strong visual aesthetics and technical precision.
