Videomapping MASKA 2023

After the Design on the Border conference, the video mapping festival MASKA awaits us again. International student videomapping festival, which takes place every year on the largest permanent videomapping area in Europe. The screening will begin on Thursday, May 11 at 9 p.m. on the platform 14|15 BAŤůV INSTITUT.

The Maska festival in Zlín not only brings unforgettable experiences and entertainment, but also provides an opportunity for everyone who wants to know the latest trends in the field of video mapping and digital art.

The history of the festival dates back to 2014, when it was first organized thanks to the civic association HUCOT, the Regional Gallery of Fine Arts in Zlín and the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of the Tomáš Bata University in Zlín. The first five years were competitive and during this period the jury consisted of well-known artists, designers and curators such as Dan Gregor alias Initi, Petr Skála, Dušan Urbanec, Václav Ondroušek, Antonio Lacerda, Rainer Mutsch, Lukáš Veverka, Xavier Roig, Vojta Frič and others.

Over the years, a large number of universities not only from the Czech and Slovak Republic, but also from various European countries have participated in the festival (see school references).

The Maska Festival is organized by the Regional Gallery of Fine Arts in Zlín together with the FMC UTB Digital Design studio in Zlín. More details can be found on the festival website.
