General Admission Requirements
Applicants must have completed a master’s degree at a tertiary educational institution of the university type in the field of visual arts, or in a field related to visual art or multimedia, or teaching of art at a higher elementary school or a secondary school. Applicants must have been awarded the title of Master of Master of Arts. The study is open to applicants who meet the requirements of the admission procedure and during the admission exam demonstrate adequate professional knowledge and creative skills.

Admission Procedure
There is no formal entrance exam requiring the applicant’s physical presence. After the application submission deadline, the submitted application is reviewed by the admission board. After the review, the board recommends or declines the application. For more information see the relevant admission directive.
Admission to Study
The results of the admission procedure are announced personally to the applicants. Enrolment starts in September.

How to Apply
To apply for a doctoral programme in Czech, please use the e-application. Follow the instructions, print the shortened version and send it – together with other required documents – by registered post to the faculty Student Services. You will then receive an electronic invitation to an entrance examination.
When using the electronic application, the applicants are required to check whether the admission fee has been successfully credited to the university account and whether the application is listed as a Received Application. In case of confusion or inconsistencies, you should contact the FMK Creative Activities officer.
Admission Examination
The entrance exam takes the form of a discussion of the dissertation topic. The candidates are expected to show their familiarity with the chosen subject and with creative methods and trends relevant to their field of expertise. They must prove their knowledge and ability to work with professional domestic and foreign literature related to the research topic, or to the creative project of his dissertation. The applicants shall demonstrate familiarity with at least one dissertation related to the subject, providing the board with a summary of such work. Part of the admission exam is a verification of a candidate’s knowledge of English by means of a written test.
Admission to Study and Enrolment
The results of the admission procedure will be published at the FMK Official Board and on the FMK web site. A written decision on admission will be presented to the applicants immediately after the decision has been made by the Dean.
