Pavel Noga Appointed Professor
18. December 2023The appointment decree was handed over to the head of the Graphic Design studio by the President of the Republic, Petr Pavel, on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Professor Pavel Noga works, among other things, in typography, corporate and publication design, and is also involved in curatorial activities.
Prof. M.Sc. A. Pavel Noga, ArtD. is a graphic designer and teacher – head of the Graphic Design studio at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of the Tomáš Bata University in Zlín. Before that, he also worked at the University of Ostrava, Masaryk University and the University of Technology in Brno. Since 1992, he has been working as a self-employed person and mainly focuses on corporate and publication design. He is also engaged in curatorial activities. Among his most important curatorial projects are the series of international exhibitions Typoplakát (2012–16) and Typoplakátok (2022).
He wrote the following books about graphic design and typography – Design on the way (2014), Od designu k designu (2019), Typo Poster (2020). For several years, he also contributed articles to the specialist magazines Typo, Designum and Typographia. He actively participates in Czech-Polish cultural activities. A number of them are documented in the publication Near and Far (2016), of which he is the editor and largely the author. He exhibited independently at home and abroad. He participated in a number of important international graphic design exhibitions, such as the Poster Biennial in Warsaw, the Poster Biennial in Mexico or Posterfest in Budapest.
