18. October 2024G18 Gallery has prepared another meeting in the Let’s Talk Arts! lecture series, which will take place on 23 October 2024 at 6 pm. This time the invitation has been accepted by curator and professor Julienne Lorz, who will speak about curating at Haus der Kunst in Munich and Gropius Bau in Berlin.
Moving Contexts: Curating Contemporary Art at Haus der Kunst in Munich and Gropius Bau in Berlin
How do we decide what kind of art we see in galleries, and how does the history and architecture of these places influence this? Julienne Lorz, former chief curator of Haus der Kunst in Munich and Gropius Bau in Berlin, will reveal the behind-the-scenes of these prestigious art institutions in her lecture. Among other things, Lorz will also present her unusual professional story of her transition from dancer to curator.
Julienne Lorz is a professor in the Extended Museum Studies master’s program at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, which is dedicated to exploring and expanding the concept of the museum.
The lecture is in English and admission is free.
