The Faculty of Multimedia Communications is a slightly different faculty, which is not only talked about, but also very visible. FMC is a creative faculty that gives students maximum space to make their ideas come true and to develop their creative abilities. Both students and teachers promote FMK through their work. By organizing exhibitions, participating in various competitions, film festivals, fashion shows, not only at home but also abroad, FMK makes itself visible to the public.
Unique is the cooperation across all study fields of the FMC (design, film and marketing) during the implementation of joint projects within the framework of the Communication Agency, a course that allows students to use the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice. One of the most extensive projects that enriches the cultural life in Zlín is the annual Zlin Design Week (a week full of design in the streets of Zlín). Other projects in which students are responsible for the whole implementation are Culturea (a multicultural festival) and SkrzPrsty (a project dealing with social issues).
Not only current FMC students, but also those interested in studying are addressed by the student team “FMC Promotion”, in which all fields of study are represented. It organises joint meetings of students and teachers, publishes the ProFMK newsletter, designs promotional materials and manages the FMC social media profiles.
FMK organises a number of events aimed at prospective students. It participates in the post-secondary and lifelong learning fairs Gaudeamus in Brno, Prague and Nitra, as well as the Study and Career Fair in Bratislava. FMC students present their studies at their former secondary schools, not only in the Czech Republic but also in Slovakia. The FMC organises Open Days, so those interested in studying have the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the faculty for themselves. Individual studios organise excursions for secondary school students as part of studio lessons or promote the FMK at art-oriented secondary schools.
