FMC presents the Identity project
28. May 2023Identity. A term that has become increasingly politicized in recent years. The identity crisis has moved from individuals and groups to large sections of society, and even entire nations. Taking a calm and focused look at this complex topic, five universities worked together to explore how it could be approached and interpreted in the field of design.
Design students from five universities around the world were invited to approach the topic without preconceptions and prior preparation. The results of their work turned out to be astonishing in their variety and freshness. From exploring individual self-awareness or national and religious identity to different perspectives on visual identity in graphic design and bringing identity to faceless institutions. Some very specific, others more conceptual, but together they all hold up a multifaceted mirror to a very important concept.
The exhibition takes place as part of the Łódź Design Festival, which will take place from 18 May to 28 May 2023 in the Art Incubator. Students from the Digital Design, Product Design and Audiovisual Creation studios will be exhibiting here for FMC. Other universities involved: Masaryk University, Zvolen University of Technology, University of Algerve and National Taipei University of Technology.
After Poland, the exhibition moves to Faro, Portugal, where it will be on view from May 22 to 27, 2023.
