Festival of Art and Creativity in Education 2025

Be part of a festival that is transforming the way we educate! From 4 to 16 April, Zlín and other Czech regions will host an event that will connect creativity, art and innovative approaches to teaching. The festival, in which the uMĚNÍM platform, the Creative Europe Office and many other institutions participate, aims to bring new impulses to education and inspiration to all those involved in this field.

“Play is work disguised as pleasure,” wrote Robert Čapek in his book Teach Like an Artist. And the Festival of Art and Creativity in Education translates this motto into reality. “Thanks to cooperation with local institutions, FUK brings unique opportunities to discover new educational methods and develop creative thinking across generations,” said Jitka Honsová, Executive Manager of the ROBOTA Creative Centre and FUK Festival Coordinator for the Zlín Region.

How does FUK work?

The festival offers a wide range of activities aimed at connecting art and education. The programme includes not only workshops, lectures and discussions, but also theatre and music performances and interactive educational programmes. This varied offer gives participants the opportunity to experience how creative methods can contribute to the development of children and adults. The programme is open not only to teachers and cultural professionals, but also to parents and anyone interested in innovative approaches to education.

What to look forward to?

Children will embark on a journey into history that comes alive through interactive and experiential activities. During the program, they will explore historical photographs, period objects and press scraps that will give them a glimpse into the past in a playful and engaging way. In the Tomáš Baťa Memorial, they will not only discover unique functionalist architecture, but also try their hand at working creatively with geometric shapes, which strengthens their imagination and aesthetic perception.

The technology part of the programme will offer practical workshops focused on innovative skills. Children will learn how to program robots, operate 3D printers, use laser cutting and even create their own designs. A number of institutions are involved in the implementation of the festival, such as the ROBOTA creative workshop at the Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín, the university’s G18 Gallery, the Zvěřinec association, the Tomáš Baťa Memorial, the Slovácké Divadlo and Slovácké Muzeum in Uherské Hradiště and the František Bartoš Regional Library in Zlín.

  • 12 April Saturday at Robota (LEGO robots, Wooden furniture renovation and open door to the workshop)
Saturday at Robota is a creative morning for adults and children where we will give you the opportunity to work with workshop equipment with our assistance to help you bring your creative ideas to life. Or would you rather have fun with your friends, kids or grandparents building and programming LEGO robots? The course will focus on surface finishes – how to properly and gently remove various coatings, layers and secondary coatings.
