Zlin Design Week and the City of Zlín announce a public competition for the proposal of graphic design of promotional items for the City of Zlín
5. February 2024Unique opportunity for all those who want to help the city of Zlín better present itself with their proposal. The City of Zlín, in cooperation with our festival Zlin Design Week, announces a competition to create a graphic design for new promotional items of the City of Zlín in the form of T-shirts, socks, and other cool promotional items. The competition will run from 5 to 29 February 2024.
Terms and conditions of the competition
The competition is open to anyone with graphic design experience and a desire to make a difference. Participation in the competition is not limited by age. Participants agree to the processing of personal data according to Act No. 110/2019 Coll. and with the publication of their graphic design, including information about the author. By sending the design, the participant confirms that they are the authors of the work and that there is no possible copyright infringement.
ASSIGNMENT
- Creation of the design of the author’s motif on the back of the T-shirt. See the specifications below.
- Creation of the design of the author’s motif on socks.
- The design of your own promotional item.
It is the participant’s choice whether they submit designs for all assignments or choose only some of them. When creating, the artist can be inspired by Zlín itself, Zlín architecture, history, present, culture, symbols, etc.

However, the proposal document in PDF format with a maximum size of 40 MB must be emailed to soutez.zlin@zlindesignweek.com no later than midnight of 29 February 2024.
The three best proposals will be selected by a committee composed of representatives of the Municipality of Zlín. The selected proposals will be presented publicly.

Selected designs will be awarded as follows:
1st place, winning design – CZK 8,000
2nd place – CZK 6,000
3rd place – CZK 4,000
