Two in one
27. February 2023We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition Two in One, which will take place on March 1, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the G18 gallery at the address Štefánikova 5670. Curator Naďa Kančevová and heads of studio Patrik Illo and Karol Weisslechner will speak about the exhibition.
The exhibition will present the activities of two progressive studios of the Department of Applied Arts of the University of Fine Arts in Bratislava – the Glass studio, led by Patrik Illo, and the S+M+L_XL – METAL AND JEWEL studio, led by Karol Weisslechner.
Each of the works presented at the exhibition indicates a different approach and direction. In some, there is a more noticeable connection to tradition and craftsmanship, in others, the original technology is revived by experimental procedures, others are more inclined to projects balancing on the edge of applied art/design and concept. If there is something that unites these apparently heterogeneous directions, it is precisely the emphasis on the material starting point.
