5. June 2023The Upstart exhibition in the G18 gallery will offer how we can creatively and aesthetically design new products from already used materials. The exhibition will open on Monday, June 5, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. and will be open until June 13, 2023, from Monday to Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The topic of sustainable design resonates almost everywhere these days. Using recycling and upcycling is one of the many ways we can help protect our world from the overuse of natural resources and the amount of waste. Sustainability is a state that we can look at from several sides. However, it is primarily about culture and subjective decisions. Every person can take a step towards subjective sustainability – just spend more time when shopping, cooking or making decisions, whether we really need this or that thing, whether it is impossible to create it, whether we can’t do without it, or maybe just read the composition and evaluate , whether it is in accordance with the principles of ecology.
The works are mostly by students of the Product Design studio at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of the Tomáš Bata University in Zlín, but you can also find products that are shown in practice. At the exhibition you will see, for example, works that were created from waste material from the production of the TON company.
