Fashion Event Dotek 2023
27. February 2023The eleventh edition of the Fashion Event Dotek project will take place again in the spring, on March 18, 2023, in the 61st building of Svit in Zlín. In addition to the rich accompanying program, a new long-term concept will also be presented as part of this year’s theme, Identity.
Fashion lovers can expect a busy afternoon and evening program consisting of workshops, a fashion show with a charity auction and an after-party on Saturday, March 18, 2023. As every year, the event is being prepared by the students of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications of the Tomas Bata University in Zlín, who will use the eleventh year to introduce a new long-term concept – a focus on students and student design.
The governor of the Zlín Region, Radim Holiš, took over the patronage of the entire project. The event was also supported by the member of the European Parliament and a native of Zlín, Martina Dlabajová. “I am impressed with the interest, enthusiasm and, above all, professionalism with which the students undertook the organization of the Dotek Fashion Event. I’m a big fan of projects that support creativity and design. I am really looking forward to the whole event,” said the MEP.
The evening event will be complemented by afternoon workshops
At 1 p.m., the program will begin with educational workshops that will take place in the university building U44 at Univerzitní 2431. Guests can look forward to a creative production workshop with Ivona Petružálková or a digital design workshop with Žil Juliá Vostálová. Pre-registration for the workshop will be required at this link, both will take place in parallel, the entrance fee of CZK 80 will be paid in cash on the spot.
At 6:00 p.m., the doors to the 61st building of Svit will open, where from 7:00 p.m. a festive gala evening with a fashion show will be held, at which 12 collections from domestic design students will be presented. However, visitors can also look forward to students from Slovakia and London. Zlín music producer Rainer will accompany the presentation with a live set. Traditionally, the fashion show will be followed by a charity auction, which will support the non-profit organization Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer, o.p.s.
“We greatly appreciate the cooperation with Fashion Event Dotek. It is a great encouragement for us in our work. Thanks to the proceeds from last year’s charity auction, we purchased a breast phantom, which we use in preventive education for the public,” says Mgr. Štěpánka Pokorná, director of the Alliance of Women with Breast Cancer.
The charity auction will delight collectors of Czech and Slovak (student) design. It will be possible to choose from designer glass, paintings, fashion accessories and clothes. Journalists Hana Řičicová and Linda Bartošová will guide guests through the auction and throughout the evening.
The gala evening at the same address will be followed by an after-party, which will give space to young musical talents from Brno, Zlín and its surroundings, such as Rainer, Fitness3200, SERB686. The headliner of the entire party will be Czech DJ Jakub Strach, known under the stage name NobodyListen.
