Culturea Travel Festival 2025

Every year, students of the Faculty of Multimedia Communications organize a one-day travel festival Culturea, thanks to which they bring the atmosphere of foreign lands to Zlín. This year’s 13th edition will focus on Ireland and New Zealand – two worlds that are similar in many ways, yet completely different. Join us in discovering their culture and mystery on Wednesday 9 April 2025 at Zlín Castle.

Whether you want to see, hear, smell or taste the unknown, stimuli from foreign countries are within reach. Visitors can enjoy a series of workshops and lectures by interesting travellers, tastings of local specialities and other accompanying programmes – simply an experience for all the senses and an unforgettable atmosphere.

Ireland
Ireland is an enchanting island where history meets legends. This picturesque piece of land in the north-west of Europe is known for its untamed nature – vast pastures, wooded valleys and a coastline bathed by the Atlantic Ocean. The landscape, often shrouded in mist and rain, has inspired many artists and writers. Sheep pastures, deep forests and vast beaches create picturesque scenery that beckon visitors to explore. Overall, Ireland is a country where the beauty of nature blends with the richness of history and culture, and where every corner offers new and fascinating experiences. Aside from Christian holidays such as St. Patrick’s Day, it also offers traditions with roots dating back to Celtic history. The pagan festivals that will be discussed, which still have a place in the Irish calendar today, are based on the celebration of the seasons and the cycles of nature.

New Zealand
It is a country with breathtaking landscapes and a rich culture, located in the southwestern part of the Pacific Ocean. This island nation consists of two main islands and many smaller islands that together form a unique mosaic of natural beauty. Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, is a dynamic cultural centre where modern trends intermingle with traditional Maori influences. The city is known for its art galleries, lively music scenes and the warm hospitality of the locals. New Zealand’s countryside often serves as a breathtaking backdrop for films. The picturesque landscape with its diverse scenery is a magical place that brings film stories to life. Let’s go on an unforgettable adventure through this landscape together!
