Best in Design 2026 awarded young designers from around the world

The international Best in Design competition, held as part of Zlin Design Week, has announced the winners of its 17th edition. This year’s competition received more than 600 entries from various countries, with an expert jury selecting the best projects in the categories of Product & Industrial Design, Fashion Design, Communication Design and Service Design. The awards ceremony took place on 9 May 2026 at the Zlín Congress Centre.

The overall winner was Polish designer Oliwia Śnieg with her project FLOW – Early detection of oil pollution in surface waters. Her design focuses on the early detection of oil pollution in surface waters and uses sensors to monitor water quality in real time. The project also won the Product & Industrial Design category.

The other category winners were Adele Hamsund from Norway with the collection Aging Gracefully, Anna Lukášová with the project Visual Identity of the Municipal Museum and Gallery in Svitavy, and Diksha Ashok with the project The Lived Lens Toolkit. In addition to the main categories, the Media Award was also presented to Barbora Bezděková, the special prize of the Martin and Martina Růžička Foundation to Anna Lukášová, and the Refresher Art Award to Silvia Berecká.

Best in Design is intended for young designers aged 30 or under, who can enter both individual and group projects. The winners of the individual categories receive financial prizes, while the overall winner receives the main prize as well as the title of Best in Design.
